Preparedness; National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)

Preparedness   is the fact of being ready for something. The National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill aims to accentuate the communities’ earthquake drill. This drill is conducted in barangays and schools. NDRRMC prepares us to be aware of the nearing or impending earthquakes.
It is virtually impossible to predict the exact time when an earthquake will occur. This is why earthquake can be terrifying. What we can do, aside from pray for safety, is to equip ourselves with proper knowledge and attend or participate with the different drills about our safety in terms of disasters. Several tools and safety precaution are needed to be ready. Instead of lying down and chugging a beer, stand up and make yourself ready. Prepare your emergency kits, prepare for yourself, and most especially, prepare for your safety.
By participating in this earthquake drill, will further help us be aware and be prepared. Take every situation seriously. Be prepared.

Letter to the President

Ilocos Sur National High School
Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines
June 13, 2019

Dear Mr. President,
Related image            I am writing this letter to express my admiration for your hard work and determination, gratitude for helping so many Filipinos, and dismay for your arrogance and outrageous behaviors.
I would like to give my utmost admiration for your bravery and determination to win your goals in life and most especially in our country, the Philippines. It may be small, but remember that big things come from small things. What is important is that everything happens for a reason. Your goals and ambitions to our country is well supported by your many fans who believe that you will change the Philippines for the better. Always bear in mind that not all things that we desire are obtained and attained by force.
I thank you for helping our country to improve and develop into something better. You helped so many Filipinos in need and being the person to lighten the mood. Every moment of you helping Filipinos through poverty, decreasing the use of illegal drugs, apprehending criminals is treasured by most Filipinos. Everyone is rooting for you, every little thing is appreciated.
This time, I would like to give my dismay. I realized even as a student the ongoing nightmare that my fellow Filipino citizens are facing. The extra judicial killings, violent death has become staple news in and about the Philippines. It seems morbid to keep track of these incidents but since you, Mr. President Rodrigo Duterte was sworn into office, at least 60 have been reportedly killed in police encounters. Police say the suspects fought back. At the same time, around the country, bodies have been found bloody, lifeless, and adorned with signs proclaiming their crimes. Nobody knows who their murderers are. The every bit of your rambling can be scandalous and discreditable to others. Your choice of words to express yourself is way too shady and opprobrious.
Serve the people of the Philippines with honesty and probity. Always remember that sincerity reaches the heart of the people who understands. Many Filipinos voted you, because they believe that you are capable of serving us, the people of the Philippines, they trusted you with their lives, their future, so do not break their trusts and beliefs for you.
Yours truly,
Clarisce Faith Cava

Living A Life Of Freedom; 121st Philippine Independence Day

Blood trickle down as he walks down a path where the dead lies. Sweat and tears are nothing but a nuisance as they fight for their lives, and most especially, their freedom. Many have sacrificed, but many innocents died as well. What have they done to deserve this? Our heroes sacrificed for our freedom. The freedom that we long to have. We need to live a life of freedom.
Philippines is a country with many resources or as we call in Filipino ‘kayamanan’. That is why many foreigners wants to conquer our land, the Philippines. But in spite of those threats, we strive for our freedom, for our peace. You need to pay before you can get what you want. The determination of our heroes to fight for our freedom overwhelms me. To think what they have gone through, a rough path full of blood, dead bodies, and tears are a sign of bravery and hard work. That is one of the many characters of Filipinos that we all admire.
Image result for 121st independence day            June 12, 1898, the day where we gained our freedom. Marks the day of our victory. Peace and serenity fill our land. We rejoice, singing and shouting. Tears of joy filled our faces. We gained what we deserved from the start. We gained the freedom that we long and wished for. Praise everyone! Praise our almighty heroes! The fear and struggles disappear through thin air as we sing our National Anthem. What we have been through is enough. Nothing can stop us now.
Philippines is The Land of the Mourning. We mourn for our heroes that sacrifice for us as well as we rejoice for our freedom. We are the    hope that everyone needs. The first, second, and third generation of people doesn’t matter. What matters is our peace and freedom, so let us stay and be the one to prove that humanity is back.
Let us celebrate the day of our independence as we live a life of freedom.
