Kannawidan

Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage of unique cultures that are to be preserved. We celebrate Kannawidan to highlight the cultures and tradition of the Ilokos. It is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818.

This year's Kannawidan officially started on January, 29, 2020.

Locals and even tourists look forward to this wondrous celebration for it is the greatest and the grandest festival in Ilocos Sur. Ilocos Sur celebrates Kannawidan in late January and the early February.

There are many activities in Kannawidan such as the mind blowing street dance, the jaw dropping dance showdown, the beauty and brains Saniata, and many more heart stopping contests. There are also performances where you can see and watch your favorite artists. In this year's Kannawidan, artists like Parokya ni Edgar,  and Ben and Ben are here to make teenagers scream.
