Reflection; Quarter 3

I had a lot of fun conquering third quarter.

We've been busy because of school activities such as our thematic project which is speech choir. we had our misunderstandings and difficulties but we strive to be the best. In the end, we conquered the stage and is one of the best performers. Not only did we conquered speech choir, we also conquered the hip-hop dance competition facilitated by the MAPEH Department, we placed 2nd among the many performers on that day.

I had fun this quarter and I wish that so did you.

Essence of Christmas

What is the true essence of Christmas? Why must we celebrate Christmas?

This Christmas season, it is important for us to bear in our minds the reason why we are celebrating this yuletide season in the first place. In this month of December, it is a must for us to remember that our Lord came in this world in order to save us from our sins; He came to redeem us from the wickedness of this world.

The essence of celebrating  Christmas season is not to have a house full of Christmas lights, having a tall and beautiful Christmas tree full of gifts underneath it and giving expensive giftsChristmas basically means sharing what you have, not just the material things but also those that can only be felt like a warm, tight hug, a simple thank you, showing our appreciation to our loved ones and forgiveness among others.

We celebrate Christmas because of the God above, for he has the power to change and save the world.

Awareness Is A Must

As life continues to evolve with outstanding achievements, there are also dark sides in this society.
So many years have passed by and we have to face with many issues. Some are small, but some of them are not. Some or maybe many issues caused the whole world to think and retaliate. One of these issue is Violence Against Women and Children, and Gender and Development are among them.

Many women and children suffer in this kind of pain, be it physical, mental, and emotional, without knowing how to stop and get help from people most especially their loved ones. Even the people who are questioned because of their identity, what happened to our world. Even though how many times they beg for mercy, society turned a blind eye to them, families put pressure on them, and people around trampled on them, makes them realize that they don't have a voice in this world.

And why must these people suffer severe consequences and unjust though they have devoted a lot for humanity? Because of Discrimination and Unequal Power.

In conclusion, I hope that every people realize what mistakes and judgement they have done. Especially to those who suffered discrimination and inequality.

We are only human. AWARENESS IS A MUST.

National Environment Awareness Month 2019

Image result for environment awarenessEnvironment includes all living and non-living objects. We live in the environment and use the environmental resources like air, land and water to meet our needs. Development also means meeting the needs of the people. While meeting the ever-growing needs, we put pressure on the environment. When the pressure exceeds the carrying capacity of the environment to repair or replace itself, it creates a serious problem of environmental degradation. If we use any environmental resource such as ground water beyond its limit of replacement, we may lose it forever. Therefore, there is a need to create ‘awareness’ about Environmental protection. While efforts are being made at the national and international level to protect our environment, it is also the responsibility of every citizen to use our environmental resources with care and protect them from degradation.

Image result for environment awarenessEnvironmental awareness proves important for several reasons; it fosters a sense of connection to the natural world, promotes sustainable development and encourages conservation of irreplaceable natural resources and vulnerable plant and animal species.

November is Environmental Awareness Month by virtue of Republic Act No. 9512 signed on Dec. 12, 2008. The law says the promotion of national awareness on the role of natural resources in economic growth and the importance of environmental conservation shall be done through environmental education.

That is why Environment Awareness is celebrated within the month of November to empower and educate everyone that being aware of every problem in our environment is important. Not just being aware but to also solve and make our environment much better for the next generations to live.

Reflection quarter 2

We've become busy since the 2nd quarter arrived. Everyone of us became busy not because of our lessons, but because of extra-curricular activities. It is actually stressful, there was a time where I thought to myself that this is too much. Too much work, to much activities, and too much extra-curricular activities. But then I realized, as I continue my blogs, I find peace within myself. Not only the blogs, but the things I like to do in class. I missed a lot of lessons, but I willed myself to learn and to catch the lessons that I have missed.

In our subject, the ICT, actually we did not discuss much. Our teacher just introduced us the HTMLs, but as she give out activities of html, I understand the lesson. Just the activities, I find myself learning in a faster way. It is just like a self-review, where the teacher just give activities and  it is up to you to understand the lesson.

At first, it was hard for me because I just really do not care at that time, but as time goes by and our teacher give more activities, I find myself enjoying every bit of it.

This is why I willed myself to learn new things and be amazed that I never stop learning.

This is my reflection for the second quarter.

Teachers' Month Celebration

A Best Day for the Best Ones

There was a saying that, "Once you stop learning, you start dying." there is no such thing as not learning, because everyday of every minute, we learn something new, be it the birthday of your crush, a new lesson, new discoveries and many more. But, we all know that we will not be nurtured if not because to our teachers that sacrifices their time and sweat to teach us, to nurture us.

A good teacher is the person who is treated as most respected person in a student life due to his unconditional effort and support for shaping and making his academic career and future bright and successful. A good teacher plays an important role for making his student personally a good human being along with bringing his academic career into right direction so a teacher reserves the place in his student’s life above than their parents.
Teachers are the real fortune maker for a student, a good teacher always try to do his best for his student’s success and thus student can never pay the debt made by his teacher for making him a successful person in life.
In the Philippines, this years Teachers' Month Celebration has a theme, "Gurong Pilipino; Handa Sa Makabagong Pagbabago." During the month-long celebration, all public and private schools, schools district offices, schools division offices, and regional offices are enjoined to follow the synchronized programs, projects, and activities. Schools are likewise encouraged to conduct special activities, such as on-the-spot poster making, essay writing, thank you card design, and cultural performances, to enable learners to express gratitude for their teachers.

We should give our best to thank and make our teachers that they are special in every hearts of the students, not only the students but all the people in the world for their teachings and word of wisdom that theu give every single day. They deserve the best of the world because they are the best teachers not only in the Philippines but to the Universe.

A best teachee should not be treated poor because they are like queens and kings, they should be treated right, should be thanked, and should be the best in any way.

That is why we need to give them a best day. The best day for the best ones, OUR TEACHERS.

Intramurals 2019

Intramurals is always fun. Students look forward to this kind of activities. There are so many sports that are included in the intramurals of 2019 in Ilocos Sur National High School. Volleyball, Basketball, Sepak Takraw, Chess, Badminton, Table Tennis, and many more.
Image result for intramuralsthis years Intramurals was coordinated by the MAPEH Club. it is a very successful event because every students attended and participated in the said activities. They also conducted a Zumba dance for the teachers and the students who are selected to dance. A fun bike where the students, teachers and people who registered get to bike early in the morning.
Intramurals allow students to develop psychomotor skills and fine-tune motor skills with coordination, movement, strength, dexterity, grace, and speed, and also find healthy outlets for energy. If one student is sports-oriented, it provide a healthy pastime to help students refrain from various vices such as drugs, smoking, drinking, and spending excessive time on electronic devices. Most importantly, teach the value of teamwork and sportsmanship.
This are the importance of having intramurals in a school. In a school where everyone has the right to play freely but not to the extent where they are not able to attend this classes. Intramurals are implemented for students who are sports-oriented.

Everybody participated and also everybody enjoyed this year's Intramurals. let us look forward to next year's Intramurals.

Vigan City, as the only heritage city in the Philippines, once again celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival for the whole month of September.
The festival is rooted in Vigan City being part of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC), an organization founded on September 8, 1993 in Fez, Morocco, to unite cities included in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List. The organization aims to bolster support to preserve and promote the member cities’ respective World Heritage.
Image result for vigan solidarityVigan City was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999 for having the “best-preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia”. Established in the 16th century, Vigan City boasts of intact examples of colonial architecture that reflect the coming together of cultural elements from elsewhere in the Philippines, from China and from Europe, resulting in a culture and townscape that have no parallel anywhere in East and South-East Asia.

There are events of the festival from September 3 to 7 include singing competitions, photography, zarzuela Ilocana (Ilocano stage play), dallot (a part of the Ilocano oral tradition of debate through  singing), kinnantaran (a form of debate between a man and a woman through singing), cultural quiz, sabayang pagbigas (speech choir), daniw (poetry), storytelling, writing on the history of Vigan as told by senior residents, painting, and folk dancing.

There are so many ways to celebrate and honor the City of Vigan. And one of them is celebrating its solidarity towards better cause.
